Die Liebfrauenkirche in der Altstadt von Koblenz
Die Liebfrauenkirche ist eine katholische Kirche im Zentrum der Altstadt von Koblenz. Sie prägt mit den anderen beiden romanischen Kirchen, den ehemaligen Stiftskirchen St. Kastor und St. Florin, die Silhouette der Altstadt. Die Anfänge der Kirche, die sich an der höchsten Stelle der Altstadt befindet, reichen bis ins 5. Jahrhundert zurück. Vom Spätmittelalter bis zur Französischen Revolution war sie die Hauptpfarrkirche von Koblenz. Sie trägt das Patrozinium der Maria, der Mutter Jesu, und ist ein Hauptwerk der mittelalterlichen Sakralbaukunst am Mittelrhein.
Das 1765 eingebaute Hauptportal besitzt eine geschnitzte Rokokotür von 1767 mit einer Umschrift, die die Stadt Koblenz der Fürsprache Mariens bei Gott empfiehlt. Darüber in einer Nische befindet sich die Figur der Muttergottes.

The Liebfrauenkirche is a Catholic church in the center of the old town of Koblenz. It shapes the silhouette of the old town with the other two Romanesque churches, the former collegiate churches of St. Kastor and St. Florin. The beginnings of the church, which is located at the highest point of the old town, go back to the 5th century. From the late Middle Ages to the French Revolution, it was the main parish church of Koblenz. It bears the patronal feast of Mary, the mother of Jesus, and is a major work of medieval sacral architecture on the Middle Rhine.
The main portal built in 1765 has a carved rococo door from 1767 with a transcription, which recommends the city of Koblenz the intercession of Mary with God. Above it in a niche is the figure of Our Lady.
