Dinkelsbühl was founded before the end of the 11th century. It gained status as an Imperial City in 1351, a distinction it held until the 19th century. Wörnitz Gate is the entrance through the medieval walls in the northwest part of the town.
It is adorned with a pretty, yet simple clock. Black roman numerals are placed against a white backdrop. Gold coloured hands mark the time.
