This Roman Catholic church was constructed in 1917, ten years after the town was founded. The Town of Miami is a copper mining town and the mine tailings loom over the church. It is in the mission revival style and the front facade presents domed towers on either side with a statue of Mary in the center. Appropriately for the location, the domes are sheathed in copper and mounted by a cross. The original miners had predominantly Mexican or Slavic ancestry and the church must have brought a touch of home.
