FR La section de la voie ferrée entre Apt et Saint-Maime-Dauphin, est concédée à la compagnie du PLM par une convention signée entre le ministre des Travaux publics et la compagnie le 26 mai 1883. Cette convention est approuvée par une loi le 20 novembre suivant. La ligne et l'embranchement, tous deux à voie unique, sont mis en service le 25 octobre 1890. La ligne comporte quinze ouvrages d'art dans son trajet en Vaucluse, et dix-sept dans les Basses-Alpes.
L'ensemble est fermé au trafic voyageurs le 2 octobre 1938.
La ligne est retranchée du réseau et déclassée en plusieurs étapes :
* de Saignon à Biabaux - Saint-Michel (garage) par une loi le 30 novembre 1941
* de Biabaux - Saint-Michel (garage) à Saint-Maime (PK 65,842 à 70,340) le 24 mai 1960.
* d'Apt à Saignon (PK 32,400 à 37,353) le 7 décembre 1965.
* section à Apt (PK 31,970 à 32,400) le 18 février 1976.
* section à Apt (PK 31,700 à 31,970) le 3 décembre 1986.
* de Cavaillon à Apt (PK 2,339 à 31,700) par décret le 20 septembre 1991

Aujourd'hui la gare est devenue le siège de l'Office de Tourisme de la ville
EN The section of the railway between Apt and Saint-Maime-Dauphin, is conceded to the PLM company by an agreement signed between the Minister of Public Works and the company on May 26, 1883. This agreement is approved by a law on November 20 following. The line and the junction, both single lane, were put into service on October 25, 1890. The line has fifteen structures on its route in Vaucluse, and seventeen in the Basses-Alpes.
The complex is closed to passenger traffic on October 2, 1938.
The line is cut off from the network and downgraded in several stages:
* from Saignon to Biabaux - Saint-Michel (garage) by a law on November 30, 1941
* of Biabaux - Saint-Michel (garage) in Saint-Maime (PK 65,842 to 70,340) on May 24, 1960.
* from Apt to Saignon (KP 32,400 to 37,353) on December 7, 1965.
* section at Apt (KP 31,970 to 32,400) February 18, 1976.
* section at Apt (KP 31,700 to 31,970) December 3, 1986.
* from Cavaillon to Apt (PK 2,339 to 31,700) by decree on September 20th, 1991
