EN: This memorial stone stands in a meadow on the wayside in front of the power plant of Laufenburg. It recalls a fatal accident on the Rhine in 1730.
The stone has a skull with crossbones under the cross. Next to the cross are the initials of the victim IGN (Ignaz?) W. and the year 1730.
The power plant operator has attached a small sign with a brief explanation next to the stone.
DE: Dieser Gedenkstein steht in einer Wiese am Wegrand vor dem Kraftwerk von Laufenburg. Er erinnert an einen tödlichen Unfall auf dem Rhein von 1730.
Der Stein hat einen Schädel mit gekreuzten Knochen unter dem Kreuz. Neben dem Kreuz sind die Initialen des Opfers IGN (Ignaz?) W. und das Jahr 1730.
Der Kraftwerkbetreiber hat neben dem Stein ein kleines Schild mit einer kurzen Erklärung angebracht.
