Die Statue ist aus Sandstein und steht auf einem Schaft (Säule), welcher wiederum auf einem Sockel ruht; insgesamt erreicht sie eine Höhe von rund vier Meter. Der Sockel enthält die Inschriftentafel „DIE GEMEINDE OBERABTSDORF ZU EHREN DER UNBEFLECKTEN EMPFÄNGNIS MARIENS MDCCCLVI.“ Die Statue wurde von der Gemeinde Oberabsdorf aus Anlass der Verkündigung des Dogmas der Unbefleckten Empfängnis Mariens errichtet und am 12. September 1856 eingeweiht. Der Schaft war früher um mindestens zwei Meter höher, wurde aber bei einer Restaurierung in den 50er Jahren des 20. Jahrhunderts gekürzt. Bei der Fronleichnamsprozession befindet sich hier der erste Altar.

The statue is made of sandstone and stands on a shaft (pillar), which in turn rests on a pedestal; Overall, it reaches a height of about four meters.
