"Das in Frankfurt ansässige Adelsgeschlecht von Holzhausen soll bereits im 15. Jahrhundert vom Kloster Arnsburg das Dortelweiler Hofgut erworben haben. In den Jahren 1780/81 wurde ein neues Herrenhaus errichtet, im Schlußstein des Durchfahrtstorbogens das Baudatum sowie das Wappen der Freiherren von Holzhausen. Der Neubau vom Ende des 18. Jahrhunderts ist längs zur Straße orientiert, das Erdgeschoß massiv gebaut, das Obergeschoß in verputztem Fachwerk. Im Erscheinungsbild dominierend neben den axial angeordneten Fensterreihen der Vollgeschosse das Mansardwalmdach. Auf der Straßenseite im 1. Dachgeschoß in den Fensterachsen jeweils eine giebelförmig abgeschlossene Gaube. Die zugehörigen Wirtschaftsgebäude im Zuge einer Aufsiedlung des Grundstücks zu reinen Wohnzwecken Anfang der 1980er Jahre leider abgerissen."
