In 1923, Newfoundland issued a set of stamps portraying, among other things, Newfoundland’s natural beauty, resources and out-lying communities. Many of these stamps (including this one) were based on photographs taken by R. E. Holloway and published in “Views in Newfoundland, England’s Oldest Colony.”

The Holloway photographs are over 100 years old now, but the small community of Mount Moriah (population currently under 800) is still there.
