Artworks is a very cool, independent coffee house in downtown Hanford. It's actually in perhaps the oldest building in town (circa 1880), it used to be an Oriental drug store. They have great coffee, and salads. They also specialize in off beat candy and old fashioned bottled sodas and they also have a rack of books to look through while you relax.
Live music the first Friday of the month, free wireless, and a room with some of the coolest gifts around.
I know it sounds like I'm the owner, but I'm not just a big fan.
