Der Weidtmanshof wurde 1917/ 18 als Kurhaus des Bochumer Allgemeinen Knappschaftsvereins für Heilverfahren gebaut. Bergbauangestellte konnten hier am Rande des „Kleinen Bergs“ in der Natur gesunde Wald- und an den Gradierwerken Soleluft einatmen.

Benannt wurde das 50-Betten-Sanatorium nach Dr. Viktor Weidtman, dem Vorsitzenden der Reichsknappschaft. Weidtman lag das Wohlergehen der Bergleute ganz besonders am Herzen und er verfolgte das Ziel einer Fusion aller preußischen Knappschaftsvereine zu einem Rückversicherungsverband. So entstand auch der „Weidtmanshof“ 1917 – 1918 an der Parkstraße als Sanatorium und Kurhaus des Bochumer Allgemeinen Knappschaftsvereins für Heilverfahren. Bergbauangestellte konnten sich hier von ihrer Arbeit erholen. Am 17.12. 1926 verstarb Viktor Weidtman plötzlich in Berlin an einem Herzschlag und hinterließ seine Ehefrau Adele Weidtman (geb. Grach), nach der der Bad Rothenfelder Adelenblick benannt wurde, mehrere Kinder und Enkelkinder.

1999 erwarb die heristo AG das Anwesen „Weidtmanshof“ für ihren Geschäfts- und Verwaltungssitz.

Weidtmanshof was built in 1917/18 as a health resort of the Bochum General Miners' Association for Healing. Miners were could breathe healthy forest air here on the edge of "Kleiner Berg" and at the salina.

The 50-bed sanatorium was named after Dr. med. Viktor Weidtman, chairman of the Reichsknappschaft. Weidtman was particularly concerned about the welfare of the miners and he pursued the goal of a merger of all Prussian miners' associations into a reinsurance association. Thus, the "Weidtmanshof" 1917 - 1918 opened as a sanatorium and spa house of the Bochum General Miners' Association for Healing. Miners were able to recover from their work here. On 17th of december 1926 Viktor Weidtman died suddenly in Berlin.

In 1999, heristo AG acquired the property "Weidtmanshof" for its business and administrative headquarters.
