This base is the "home to the Australian Army School of Infantry, Special Forces Training Centre, Defence Support Group Singleton and other regular support services. The Royal Australian Infantry Corps Museum is also located within the barracks." - Wiki

Most of the roadsides in the area are the Singleton Military Training Area and you will see metal signs about every 100 metres warning about No Entry, and Trespassing, and that there may be Live Fire training, and even that LASERs may be in use.
