'Just in case' you missed where "the" Foundation Stone is, there are FOUR stones for this Baptist Church; all with the same date - 20th March 1909! There are three on the western end of the Church - facing Willoughby Road, with the other at the southern entrance on the Willoughby Street end of the Church. Each of the Stones are recessed, with curve edged bricks surrounded it.

The following is excerpted from a NSW Heritage Report:
This is a …"Compact brick church with steeply pitched gable roof of slate with terracotta ridge caps. Stucco moulding to parapets and pointed-arch windows have stucco label moulds. Between windows are stepped buttresses with stucco copings. This building was designed in the Victorian Free Gothic style." Northside Baptist Church

The Foundation Stone on the northern side of the west end of the Church is on a 'brick buttress' and reads, as follows:

 This stone was laid
	 by
Mr. Wm. BUCKINGHAM
   20th March 1909.

The centre of the three western Foundation Stones is the largest, being about twice the size (surface area). It is above a sandstone block retaining wall, which has a couple of wooden slat benches in front of the wall. The Stone reads:

       This stone was laid
	as a memorial of
     the first Australasian
      Baptist Congress 1908
	       by
Mr. Herbert Priestley F.S.A.A.
	    President
         20th March 1909.

The southern, of the 'west-facing' Foundation Stones, is also on an angled wall 'buttress', of about 45° angle. The Hawkesbury sandstone of this plaque is quite weathered, which makes it hard to read some of the following:

This stone was laid
	by
Mr. HUGH DIXSON
  20th March 1909.

The 'final' Foundation Stone is by the southern entry door at the western end of the Church, and was laid by the Pastor. It is a little more protected, and it is in good condition. It reads:

This stone was laid
	by
Rev. DAVID STEED
Pastor of the Church
  20th March 1909.
