This beautiful Stained Glass Window, at the base of the Bell Tower, and facing south, is in a Gothic-arched shaped window. It depicts a kneeling soldier, holding a gold-handled sword, at the feet of beatified Jesus Christ.

At the top of the scene, above the haloed head of Christ is the wording:

"Well done thou Good
and Faithful Servant"

While, at the bottom of the brilliantly coloured scene is:

"In Loving Remembrance of
Lan. Corporal C.W.D. Wheeldon
Killed in Action - 1918"

From the Australian War Memorial website, Lance Corporal Cuthbert William Debenham Wheeldon served in the Australian Imperial Force - Australian Army. He was only 24 years old when he was killed on 19 August, 1918, in France. He is buried in the Fouquescourt British Cemetery, Fouquescourt, Picardie, France. His Service Number was; 2256. Access: While the BEST view is 'obviously' from inside, it is now a private residence, and if you do catch up with Simon and/or Ineka, mentioning my name may get you the chance to get to the bottom of the Bell Tower and get a similar inside photo.
* Otherwise: a reasonable photo can be taken from the outside of the church. *
