There are a number of flora and fauna information boards at this scenic lookout. I personally enjoyed the Douglas Fir ones the most.
The mountainous area around Banff contains Douglas Fir, but because it's not as wet a climate as the Pacific Coast they don't get to be the giant specimens you see out there. This is a nice spot for a few minutes and offers a great view of the Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel.
