Dès 1939, l'armée de l'air installe, non loin de l'aérodrome de Limoges-Feytiat, un dépôt de matériels techniques, d'armement et de munition. En 1943, un centre administratif de l'air et le groupe de sécurité aérienne sont rajoutés.
La BA 273 est définitivement fermée le 31 juillet 1997 et partiellement reconvertie en une zone industrielle de 12ha ; il reste une zone militaire qui accueille l'imprimerie de la gendarmerie nationale.

In 1939, the air force installed, near the Limoges-Feytiat aerodrome, a depot of technical equipments, weapons and ammunition. In 1943, an Air Administration Center and the Air Safety Group were added.
BA 273 was definitively closed on 31 July 1997 and partially converted into an industrial area of 12ha; it remains a military zone which hosts the printing house of the national gendarmerie.
