Located on the north side of Poplar Avenue, this very large cemetery is extremely well maintained. During our visit, there were a lot of other people here as well. According to Find a Grave, there are about 60,000 memorials here. When you visit, don't miss The Grotto (in the center of the grounds), and the Fallen Heroes memorial (south side). The coordinates posted are for the south entrance, by the beautiful fountain. The office provides free food to give to the fish and ducks at the pond by The Grotto.
Some famous people laid to rest here include:
James Pinckney Alley, Don Briscoe, Cecil Stamps Blackwood, and Bobby "Blue" Bland.
