The only employee of a small press office, secretary Jirina Zvonícková, decides to help her good-natured and bloody boss Broko. In order to get an interview with an inaccessible "king of fashion" Pavel Toman, she will dress up as a young man and join Toman's company as a messenger. So she will not only gain interwiev but also other interesting information about Toman. One day she meets her in Tom's Cafe in her girlfriend shape. Jirina promptly claims that the messenger is her brother. At the corporate celebration, the messenger finds out that Mary is secretly photographing new models for the competition. The bereaved Mary, however, seduces everything on George, in which a girl is revealed. Toman gives Jir's testimony and is deeply concerned, for he has fallen in love with her. On leaving, Jirina will give the treacherous Mary at least a thorough check. When Jirin's innocence proves, Toman asks her not only for forgiveness but also for her hand.

Jediná zamestnankyne malé tiskové kanceláre, sekretárka Jirina Zvonícková, se rozhodne pomoci svému dobráckému a smolarskému šéfovi Brokovi. Aby získala interview od neprístupného "krále módy" Pavla Tomana, prevlékne se za mladého muže a nastoupí v Tomanove firme jako poslícek. Tak se jí podarí získat nejen interwiev ale i další zajímavé informace o Tomanovi. Jednoho dne ji však v kavárne Toman potká v její dívcí podobe. Jirina pohotove tvrdí, že poslícek Jirí je její bratr. Pri podnikové oslave zjistí poslícek, že kreslicka Mary tajne fotografuje nové modely pro konkurenci. Pristižená Mary však všechno svede na Jirího, v nemž je navíc odhaleno devce. Toman dá Jirine výpoved a je hluboce dotcen, nebot se do ní zatím zamiloval. Na odchodu dá Jirina zrádné Mary alespon dukladný polícek. Když se prokáže Jirinina nevina, žádá ji Toman nejen o odpuštení, ale i o ruku.
