"Edward W Whitaker (1914-1997)
Pacific Grove is a reflection of many individual working together in public and community service. One such extraordinary individual was Ed Whitaker. Pacific Grove councilmember and planning commissioner, school board trustee, a founder of the Asilomar Operating Corps chair of the Monterey County Planning commission and LAFCO, historian , builder, realtor, vestrymen, fisherman, chef, Mason, Elk, Rotarian, Buckeye,wit husband, father and friend.
He was honored, respected and loved by all who knew him, and almost everyone did. We invite you to remember Ed Whitaker and all those who have contributed to making it possible for you to enjoy this magnificent shoreline."
