Charles Earl "Pappy" McMurray was born in Kansas on September 30, 1893 and passed away on November 1981, he was 88 years of age. "Pappy" is interred in Forest Cemetery in Coeur d'Alene. Charles McMurry was affectionately called "Pappy" by family and friends.

The large 36" diameter bell is supported by a pair of side frames and was manufactured by the C. S. Bell & Co located at the time in Hillsboro, Ohio. It is stamped 36 which is one of the larger bells they manufactured between 1882 - 1894 from a source that was located. Where this old bell was acquired in uncertain, as according to the dates this was before his birth.
