The rural community here was originally called "Bentonville", for Edward Houston ("Hugh") Benton, who is buried in this cemetery. When it came time to establish a post office, another "Bentonville" already existed, so "Edhube" was cobbled together from Mr. Benton's name. The original cemetery land was donated by Johnnie Hampton, who is buried here with several family members, although you won't find headstones for them: Harry T. Hampton is the only one with a headstone with "Hampton" on it.
