A culvert is a structure used to convey surface runoff through embankments. Differing from a bridge, a culvert is covered by the embankment and has structure material on all sides.

This culvert is located at the intersection of Route 66 (Danforth Road) and Hiwassee Road east of the town of Arcadia. It carries runoff diagonally across the intersection, from northeast to southwest. The reinforced concrete tunnel is approximately three feet wide and high. At the surface, a concrete curbing shows the WPA shield and the date 1937. The website shown below outlines the WPA work done on Oklahoma roads.
