V letech 1957 a 1960 došlo k archeologickému výzkumu hrádku pod vedením B. Coufala. Výzkum odkryl pudorys hlavního objektu hrádku z kamenu kladených na sucho a získal bohatou kolekci hmotné kultury, zejména keramiky.

Nyní je z toho místa krásný výhled do údolí reky Jihlavy

[EN] The founders of the castle were lords of Rokštejn or Strížovci, a side branch of Hrutovic's family. This genus gained this area around village Strížov and Prímelkov sometime in the first half of the 13th century and probably participated in its colonization. The castle was founded sometime in the second half of the 13th century, as evidenced by the ceramic findings. At that time, the genus was founded by castle Rokštejn too. The castle can not be considered a mere guard fortress for guarding access roads to the castle Rokštejn, but as a separate residence with its own economic buildings and with the adjoining buildings in Prímelkov. One reason for the existence of the two buildings could be a large number of members of the family from the Rokštejn family at the end of the 13th century. However, the documented property in holdings of the family were relatively small, which probably led to financial problems later on. At that time, however, the castle was, according to a small number of found iron objects, planned abandoned and burned.

In the years 1957 and 1960 the archaeological research of the castle was led by B. Coufal. The research uncovered the floor plan of the main building from stones and acquired a rich collection of material culture, especially ceramics.

now is from this place a beautiful view of the valley of the Jihlava River
