Auf einem Granitsockel im Kurpark von Bad Oeynhausen steht die Büste des preußischen Königs Friedrich Wilhelms IV.
Das Denkmal würdigt den preußischen König als Gründer und Förderer des Bades Oeynhausen.
Das Werk des Berliner Bildhauers Christian Daniel Rauch (1777-1857) wurde aus zahlreichen Spenden finanziert und entstand auf Initiative des ehemaligen Stadtarchivars Rico Quaschny und des Arbeitskreises Heimatpflege.
Erst die Entscheidung Friedrich Wilhelm IV. zur Gründung einer staatlichen Badeanstalt, die von ihm vollzogene Benennung des Bades Oeynhausen und die von ihm erteilten Aufträge zur Planung des Kurparks und der Badeeinrichtungen machten die Entstehung von Bad und Stadt möglich. Das persönliche Interesse des preußischen Herrschers, seine mehrfachen Besuche und seine unmittelbare Beteiligung am Entwurf des Badehauses hätten dafür gesorgt, dass Bad Oeynhausen rasch eine beliebte preußische Badestadt wurde.

On a granite pedestal in the spa park of Bad Oeynhausen stands the bust of the Prussian King Friedrich Wilhelm IV.
The monument honors the Prussian king as the founder and promoter of Bad Oeynhausen.
The work of the Berlin sculptor Christian Daniel Rauch (1777-1857) was funded by numerous donations and was created on the initiative of the former city archivist Rico Quaschny and the working group home care.
Only the decision of Friedrich Wilhelm IV to found a state bathing establishment, the designation of the Bad Oeynhausen that he carried out and the orders he had given for the planning of the spa park and bathing facilities made it possible to build a bath and a city. The personal interest of the Prussian ruler, his multiple visits and his direct involvement in the design of the bathhouse had ensured that Bad Oeynhausen quickly became a popular Prussian bathing city.
