Bad Rothenfelde ist ein schöner Kurort im Süden vom Osnabrücker Land.
In den Jahren 1742 bis 1752 war die Saline Rothenfelde so weit in ihrer Produktionsausweitung gediehen, dass sie sogar die in der ehemaligen Grafschaft Tecklenburg liegende, preußische Salzfaktorei mit 18.515 Berliner Scheffeln Salz versorgen konnte. In den sechziger und siebziger Jahren des 18. Jahrhunderts wurden dann entscheidende Neu- und Umbaumaßnahmen wie die Wiedereinrichtung eines großen Gradierwerkes und die Ausstattung der Siedehäuser mit neuen Siedepfannen durchgeführt. Die Jahresproduktion von Rothenfelde lag schließlich bei im Durchschnitt 870.000 kg jährlich.
Als Visionär seiner Zeit hat Carl Schloenbach 1822 das Bauwerk fast ohne Seitenstützen erbauen lassen. Für ein Gradierwerk von 412 m Länge und 10 m Höhe war das eine nie wiederholte Meisterleistung.
Gleich nebenan befindet sich der Kurpark mit Wassertretbecken, Rosengarten, Teichen und einer Windmühle am Ende der Salinen.

Bad Rothenfelde is a beautiful spa town in the south of Osnabrücker Land.
In the years 1742-1752, the Rothenfelde saltpans had grown so far in their production expansion that they could supply even the lying in the former county of Tecklenburg, Prussian Salzfaktorei with 18,515 Berlin bushel salt. In the sixties and seventies of the eighteenth century decisive new and rebuilding measures were carried out, such as the restoration of a large graduation tower and the equipment of the boiling houses with new boiling pans. The annual production of Rothenfelde was finally at an average of 870,000 kg annually.

Right next door is the spa park with Wassertretbecken, rose garden, ponds and a windmill at the end of the salt works.
