Welcome to Gumbleton's English Tea Room!
Have you ever experienced a real English High Tea?
If you have never tasted that pleasure, you have missed a lot.
But fortunately you can still improve your life by undergoing it.
We intentionally write "undergo" here, because a real high tea is something that comes over you.
You must imagine a room decorated in typical English style, where you and your party feel welcome and be pampered with all kinds of homemade delicacies.
A high tea usually consists of four courses: savory snacks, sandwiches, a scone with clotted cream, a sweet dish and of course tea in many flavors (or of course coffee if you prefer).
The various corridors can be more or less extensive.
With an extensive high tea you will be busy for about three hours and your evening meal will not end up much longer! Undoubtedly, after this explanation, you will get a sense of a holiday in England, just to experience such a high tea.
Unfortunately we can not take care of your trip to England for you. But traveling to England for a high tea is also not necessary.
You can go to the corner of Gumbleton's English Tea Room, so to speak.
You can find us at the Grote Noord 14 in Hoorn, near the Red Stone and opposite the Koepelkerk.
As soon as you step inside Gumbleton's Tea Room you immediately feel the informal, relaxed English atmosphere.
An occasion where a guest feels like a real guest.
You can choose from 35 types of tea from all corners of the world, because in addition to the real English tea, there is also tea from China, Indonesia, India, Japan, Africa and Morocco.
On your search through our menu you will feel even more in England.
You will find dishes that you will find in almost every tearoom in England: from a cup of tea or coffee with a sweet dish, through a hearty lunch, to an extensive High Tea.
The dishes of our high tea are based on the original English recipes, such as the scones with clotted cream and jams that are worth a detour, and almost everything is home baked, of course!
We regularly see many of our guests back, a sign that what we offer is appreciated.
An additional proof of this is the compliments of English tourists, who praise us for the taste and quality of our typical English dishes.
On a beautiful summer day you can relax on our terrace, from where you have a beautiful view over the Great North and the Red Stone.
Oh yes, if you think that all this is not for you, because you have a food allergy (gluten-free, sugar-free, lactose-free, etc.), let that thought sail very quickly.
If you tell us a few days before your visit, we are sure that we can also prepare tasty dishes for you.
Also with other wishes (vegetarian, no fish, etc.) can be taken into account, provided we are warned in advance.
Can we say "Goodbye"? Because we hope to welcome you in the coming time.
