The clock sits on a brick pedestal in front of the Santa Rita Prison. The clock itself is painted white and very ornate. The face is white with black numbers. A plaque reads: "In honor of H.P. Gleason. Sheriff of Alameda County. 1940-1963. Clock base donated by Turner Construction Company."
