In Western Oklahoma on Highway 34, about 12 miles south of Woodward is a small town called Sharon. The town is 1/10 of a mile square and has a current population of 144. This is an agricultural community, primarily wheat, poultry and livestock.

Settlement in this area was opened during the Cherokee Outlet opening in 1893. The town was first named Hackberry (sure glad I wasn't named after the town), and later the name was changed to Sharon, after one of two families who owned the townsite.

The only claim to fame I could find about this town is that in the 1950s to 1970s it was the smallest town in the world to have an independent Chevrolet agency. Okaaaay!!!!!

Photos submitted are me standing in front of the Sharon Town Hall, plus photos of the Sharon water tank, and the Sharon Post Office 73857.
