Small, secluded World War I cemetery located near the Achilleon Palace on the east side of Corfu.

The French took temporary control of Corfu in order to provide a safe haven for fleeing Serbians, who were trying to escape the Austro-Hungarian Empire.

During the War, the palace was used as a hospital for the Allies. The soldiers from the French Army who died here were buried in this cemetery. Many of the troops were Zouaves, mainly Africans, noted for their distinctive red pantalons.

Access to the cemetery is by following the signs from the nearby road. There is a paved road of sorts, but it is not recommended unless you have a high-clearance vehicle or bike/motorbike.
