The ferry Moritzdorf is a passenger ferry over the Baaber Bek on Rügen in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.
It connects the belonging to the municipality Sellin district Moritzdorf west of the Baaber Bek with the eastern Baaber bastion of the municipality Baabe. Without a ferry, an eight-kilometer detour would have to be taken around the northern Sellin lake. The ferry is a wooden rowing boat, which is ferried by the ferryman over the only about 50 meters wide Baaber Bek. The ferry offers a maximum of 15 passengers and is one of the smallest ferries in Germany. Also bicycles and strollers are transported.
The ferry service has existed since 1891. The first owner of the ferry was the dealer Martin Looks. Although there were plans for the construction of a bridge in 1887, these were not implemented. Within the year-round ferry service, the ferry operates as needed. Ferry passengers call the ferry by hitting a metal pipe or shouting. Also a mobile phone number is shown. In the past, there was a bell pull to call the ferryman.
