Once located at the entrance of Williams Air Force Base prior to its closing, the T-38 is still in use as a trainer by the Air Force. The base has since been converted to a commercial airport where the Boeing Company is currently upgrading the avionics in 500 Air Force T-38C planes.

The Charles L. Williams Memorial Park was dedicated to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the airport's opening in March 1994. Lt. Williams, an Arizona native and namesake for the airport, was killed in 1927 while flying for the Army Air Corps near Honolulu. The park is located near a runway of the airport and is easily accessible.
