"St.

The Catholic Church of St. Nicholas in Königsfeld, a local church in the district of Ahrweiler in Rhineland-Palatinate, was built in 1912, retaining parts of the old church.

The parish church in Königsfeld, the hl. Nicholas consecrated, still has parts of the 13th century and a stately west tower. As early as 1226, King Henry VII granted Gerhard von Landskron the patronage rights over Königsfeld.

The church was originally a three-aisled basilica with a flat wooden ceiling. However, the tower from this period had to be partially renewed after the city fire in 1710. Also the old choir with the lower part of the altar dates from the first half of the 13th century. Under the choir since 1602 the tomb of the Lords of Bassenheim.

The gothic tabernacle to the left of the altar dates from the 15th century. In the former sacristy of 1497 u.a. the Königsfeld Madonna from the first half of the 13th century.

In 1912, the new nave was built in neo-Gothic style under the direction of Trier architect Peter Marx. "
