This red brick building was built in 1909 to house the Hartshorne IOOF Lodge No. 14.
At some point long ago, that lodge folded and IOOF Lodge No. 18 met here, as evidenced by a metal 1920s-era IOOF F-L-T sign with "#18" painted on it.
The old IOOF building is located along the US 270 near N 9th Street in downtown Hartshorne.
In 2017 the only occupant of this crumbling building is a gnarly-looking independent convenience store and pool hall.
