In itself, a walkway is not necessarily waymark worthy. If you add a historic church, a dedication sign and a few places to go to on that walkway; it just seems like a waymark is necessary.

The church grounds include the magnificent Gothic Revival church building, open and enclosed multi-purpose areas, a large flag stone grotto, a reflection area with benches, and an Outdoor Stations of the Cross. If not for these walkways, one would not be able to reach the Stations or the Grotto.

Guardian Angel Catholic Church was originally constructed in 1899 and destroyed by the Storm of 1900, and rebuilt in 1904. The current building was built by Wallis builder Jan Bujnoch. The structure was designed by German architect Leo Dielman of San Antonio. The new building was dedicated on October 21, 1915 and was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.

It has been serving Wallis and the surrounding communities for over a century.
