EN: The fountain in the square south of Andreaskirche has a relief at the column, which shows several men, one of them a bishop. Maybe the scene has something to do with the village history; I could not find any information.
At the front of the trough you can read "village Gossau". The fountain looks relatively new, not only because of its excellent condition, but also stylistically. It is likely to have been created shortly before 2000, because in 2001 Gossau became a city officially.
DE: Der Brunnen auf dem Platz südlich der Andreaskirche hat ein Relief an der Brunnensäule, das mehrere Männer zeigt, einer davon ein Bischof. Möglicherweise hat die Szene etwas mit der Dorfgeschichte zu tun; ich konnte keine Informationen finden.
An der Vorderseite des Trogs steht "Dorf Gossau". Der Brunnen sieht relativ neu aus, nicht nur wegen des ausgezeichneten Zustands, auch stilistisch. Er dürfte kurz vor 2000 entstanden sein, da sich Gossau seit 2001 offiziell "Stadt" nennt.
