"An 18th-century building, tucked away in a side street, that opened as a coffee bar in 1957 and got a pub licence five years later. Taken over by Bath Ales in around 2000 and revamped in the company's inimitable style, it looks and feels like a pub that's been there for a century or more. Wooden floorboards, wood panelling and subdued lighting add to the ambience of the ground-floor bar, created from several small rooms. A popular restaurant upstairs."
