Howard Prairie Resort and Recreation Area is popular with campers and boaters during the summer months. Howard Prairie Reservoir is a man-made lake which is stocked with rainbow trout each year and the marina is always busy with boaters and fishermen.

The concession building houses a restaurant, small convenience store and registration check-in to the campgrounds and small cabins that can be rented.
