The town of Mena, located in southwest Arkansas is completely surrounded by the Ouachita National Forest. To the west of Mena are the Ouachita Mountains, and nearby Rich Mountain (elevation 2681 feet).
This elevation sign is a wood sign, hanging from the overhanging eave on the street side of the depot. It has an etched locomotive and reads: "Mena Depot Center / Elev 1149.9" (feet)
