The Silvery Tay is a franchise which opened in 1978, with a shop in the city of Dundee and this one on the opposite shore of the Firth of Tay in the Fife town of Newport.

It takes its name from the William McGonagall poem.

This popular destination occupies a corner site on the High Street and overlooks the Tay and Dundee beyond.

Amongst the specialities is Icelandic Haddock.
