The former Maximilian Fountain and today's Neptune Fountain is located in the center of the Lindau Market Square. It has a cast iron basin and the figure of Neptune on an antique central column. Built in 1840, it stands today on a flat elevation leading to stairs. A view decorated with flowers.
The Roman god Neptune corresponds to the Greek water god Poseidon and was originally believed to be the god of the flowing waters, the spring springs or even the weather. From the beginning of the 3rd century BC, He was equated with the Greek Poseidon, thus becoming the god of the sea.
