The poem "Footprints in the Sand" was written in the 1930s. The story is nowhere to be found in the Bible, but it is very inspirational to those of the Christian Faith.

The statue depicts Jesus carrying a man. In the poem, sometimes Jesus walks beside us. In times of trouble he carries us. So when you look at your footprints in the sand, sometimes you see one set. Sometimes you see two.
