Der Hauptbahnhof ist über einen circa 500 Meter langen und viergleisig ausgeführten Damm mit dem Festland verbunden.
Lindau ist der Endpunkt der von München über Kempten kommenden Allgäubahn. Ihr südöstlicher Abschnitt von Kempten nach Lindau wurde 1853 fertig gestellt.

The main railway station is connected to the mainland by an approximately 500-meter long, four-track dam.
Lindau is the end point of the Allgäubahn from Munich via Kempten. Its southeast section from Kempten to Lindau was completed in 1853.
