Coraopolis, PA Railroad Station - U.S. National Register of Historic Places on Waymarking.com

Coraopolis is an industrial town west of Pittsburgh on the Ohio River. In 1879, a nice brick passenger station opened up to serve the Pittsburgh & Lake Erie railroad line. The depot is located on Mill Street between 3rd and 4th Avenues. The tracks are now a plain old CSX freight line and the station is closed. Roofing and beams are in a fairly advanced stage of decay, and the entire area is posted against trespassing.

Although the depot is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, it faces an uncertain future. There's a big "SOLD" sign on the side of the platform pavilion. I was not able to turn up any information on the buyer or their intended use for the property. Let's hope they restore the building for a restaurant or something, instead of tearing it down.
