EN: The Massaboden power station is located south of Bitsch. It belongs to the Swiss Federal Railways and produces railway power, mainly for the line through the Simplon Tunnel between Brig and Iselle. It was built in 1915/16 and has a capacity of 8 MW.

The water comes from the Massa, which dissipates the melting water of the Aletsch glacier into the Rhone. The power plant is not to be confused with the larger plant Elecra-Massa, the dam in the Massa Gorge dating from 1969, which is also located in the municipality of Bitsch but about five kilometers further north.

Das Wasser kommt aus der Massa, die das Schmelzwasser des Aletschgletschers in die Rhone abführt. Das Kraftwerk ist nicht zu verwechseln mit der grösseren Anlage Elecra-Massa, der Staumauer in der Massaschlucht aus dem Jahr 1969, die sich auch auf dem Gemeindegebiet von Bitsch befindet aber etwa fünf Kilometer weiter nördlich liegt.
