Sugarlands Cemetery is a typical mountain cemetery located on a hill. Flat land in the Smokies was too valuable for farming so cemeteries tended to be located on hills. If you are familiar with the Smokies you will find surnames you will recognize. Tombstones range from rounded rocks to homemade to "modern" granite.
There is no sign at the cemetery.
