Big B BBQ is more Carolina style than Texas style -- meaning it's all about the pig and the vinegary sauces, not at all about the dry rubs, mesquite smoke, mopping sauces, and beef.
But even very-snotty-about-their-barbecue-Texans can agree Big Bob's a great local place for lunch in Alexander City, on a trip out of Montgomery, with friendly service, big portions, and kitschy decor -- such as a cigar store Indian.

"Very good pork BBQ in a small town, served up with amazing Southern sides of tender cornbread, and your choice of several sides (we got fried green tomatoes, turnip greens, and black eyed peas).
Fast friendly service, nice clean dining room, and very impressive smoke ring on the pork.
