This map also covers the area of Newborough to the east. Moe is about 130 km east of Melbourne (capital of Victoria. It is thought (ex Wikipedia) that the name of the town comes from an indigenous word meaning "Swamp land".
Less than 50 km (ATCF - as the crow flies) north are the ski fields of Mt Baw Baw.
