When in 1889 the A&NW extended a branch to Marble Falls, the Texas Mining and Improvement Co. deeded land on Avenue N for a depot. The depot, built 1893, provided service through the A&NW/H&TC Southern Pacific years until vacated in 1968. Passenger service was discontinued in 1931.

Around 1976 the depot was purchased by a local businessman and donated to Chamber of Commerce and the city, who moved the depot to its present location on U.S. 281.
