The former Wesleyan Chapel was constructed in the Victorian Academic Gothic style in 1883 to replace an earlier Chapel built in 1856 which was resumed for railway construction in February 1883. The foundation stone of the present Wesley Chapel, was laid by Mrs.Robert Hardey on 9th May 1882 and was officially opened on 21st August 1883.
The chapel is a of brick construction with tall lancet windows and steeply pitched roof,the brickwork has been rendered and painted. The front gable was originally surmounted by a bellcote which has been removed.
In 1977, after electing to join the union of the Uniting Church of Australia in 1976,Wesley Chapel became the Uniting Church, Guildford.
