La ligne de Cavaillon à Saint-Maime - Dauphin est une ancienne ligne de chemin de fer française à écartement standard et à voie unique non électrifiée. Elle reliait Cavaillon (Vaucluse), sur la ligne d'Avignon à Miramas, à Saint-Maime - Dauphin (Alpes-de-Haute-Provence), où elle rejoignait la ligne de Forcalquier à Volx. Volx était une gare de la ligne de Lyon à Marseille via Grenoble.

Elle constituait la ligne 922 000 du réseau ferré national

La compagnie des chemins de fer de Paris à Lyon et à la Méditerranée (PLM) ouvre en 1877 un premier embranchement à voie unique de Cavaillon à Apt.

Le plan Freycinet, prévoit de relier au réseau toutes les sous-préfectures. Or Forcalquier, sous-préfecture des Basses-Alpes, n'est pas desservie. La loi du 17 juillet 1879 inscrit la réalisation d'une ligne Volx à Apt, avec embranchement sur Forcalquier. La loi n°10.273 du 13 janvier 1881 déclare d'utilité publique la construction d'une ligne allant d'Apt à la ligne de Forcalquier à Volx.

C'est sur cette ligne que sera construite la gare de Saignon.

La ligne est mis en service le 25 octobre 1890. La ligne comporte quinze ouvrages d'art dans son trajet en Vaucluse, et dix-sept dans les Basses-Alpes.

L'ensemble est fermé au trafic voyageurs le 2 octobre 1938. La section de Cavaillon à Apt est "coordonnée", le reste de la ligne est progressivement déclassé et déposé en plusieurs étapes dont celle d'Apt à Saignon (PK 32,400 à 37,353) le 7 décembre 1965.

La véloroute du Calavon est un aménagement cyclable d'une longueur de 37 km (en 2016-03) situé en France, dans le département de Vaucluse, qui utilise l'emprise de l'ancienne ligne ferroviaire de Cavaillon à Volx. Elle tient son nom du cours d'eau, le Calavon, qui coule dans la vallée et permet de découvrir les plus beaux villages perchés alentours.

La gare de Saignon (toujours désaffectée) est l'une des étapes, avec parking, tables de pique-nique, qui permet d'emprunter ce parcours

The line of Cavaillon to Saint-Maime - Dauphin is an old line of railroad French standard gauge and single track not electrified. It connects Cavaillon (Vaucluse), on the Avignon line at Miramas, at Saint-Maime-Dauphin (Alpes-de-Haute-Provence), where it joined the line of Forcalquier to Volx. Volx was a station of the line of Lyon in Marseille via Grenoble.

It was the 922 000 line of the national rail network

The railway company from Paris to Lyon and the Mediterranean (PLM) opened in 1877 a first branch of single track from Cavaillon to Apt.

The Freycinet plan plans to link all the sub-prefectures to the network. Or Forcalquier, sub-prefecture of the Basses-Alpes, is not served. The law of July 17, 1879 enters the realization of a line Volx to Apt, with branch on Forcalquier. Law No. 10.273 of 13 January 1881 declares the construction of a line running from Apt to the Forcalquier-Volx line of public utility.

It is on this line that the railway station of Saignon will be built.

The line was put into service on October 25, 1890. The line includes fifteen works of art in its route in Vaucluse, and seventeen in the Basses-Alpes.

The whole is closed to passenger traffic on October 2, 1938. The section of Cavaillon in Apt is "coordinated", the rest of the line is gradually decommissioned and deposited in several stages including that of Apt in Saignon (PK 32,400 to 37,353) On 7 December 1965.

Today
The Calavon bikeway is a 37 km (2016-03) bikeway located in France, in the department of Vaucluse, which uses the right-of-way of the old railway line from Cavaillon to Volx. It takes its name from the stream, the Calavon, which flows into the valley and allows to discover the most beautiful villages perched around.

The station of Saignon (always disused) is one of the stages, with parking, picnic tables, which allows to borrow this route
