The Scholar is a concrete sculpture of a woman dressed in a long gown and ruffled sleeves. Her hair is pulled back in a more formal hair style. She appears to be a person from the turn of the century when this College was established in 1901. She has a stack of three large books on her lap, and is turning the pages of the top book.

Whether she is a teacher or a student, she is portraying the role of a Scholar. The sculpture is sitting on a three foot high brick platform.

A bronze plaque on the base reads:
